Reykjavik: The Start

To be honest,  Iceland was never high on my list of places “I must visit”.  But we went, we loved it, and now we’ll go back.

Reykjavik:  The Start

We started here, the air was clean and cool, cutting deep into our lungs like a sharp gin takes your breath away.    The city is small,  just 140,000 people call it home but its the largest in Iceland, and it feels alive.   The streets are tight, walkable.  People smile and they mean it.  We wandered for hours, letting the bustle carry us along.  Eventually, we ducked into a café for Icelandic food.   Although not bold enough to try the Hákarl (fermented shark that smelled a lot like ammonia), I did have the Lobster and Seafood soup.  Warm. Heavy.  Perfect.
